At J & D Woodcrafters we specialize in handcrafted wooden products, including handmade wooden gifts, wooden bottle stoppers, bowls, pens, salt and pepper grinders, oil lamps, and more. Many of these are crafted on a lathe, and made from beautiful exotic wood from countries such as Africa, Central America, and North and South America. They are finished with the highest quality craftsmanship to bring out the natural beauty in the wood. Because each item is crafted individually, no two of our unique wood products are exactly alike.

Engraving and Personalization

We are happy to add engraving and etching services to J & D Woodcrafters. Some of the items in our store already have some engraving, but other products in the store can be personalized to your specifications for an added cost.

We also offer engraving on special orders, such as glassware (wine glasses, beer mugs, etc.), glass and ceramic tile, wood plaques, acrylic—just about anything except for some types of metal. These items are not shown in our store but product and ordering information is available in the Custom Engraving link, above.

Handmade Wooden Gifts

What's in the store:

Pepper Grinders (and salt grinders): Our grinders, beautiful and functional, are made in a variety of shapes and sizes of many different kinds of woods. Our newest grinders are designed to look like famous lighthouses in North Carolina. All of these are handcrafted on the lathe from beautiful and often exotic wood.

Bottle Stoppers: Made for sealing opened bottles of wine, vinegar, or oil, bottle stoppers make great gifts, but are also useful in your own home. We offer a choice of base styles for every stopper we make so you are sure to get the type that you prefer. Because bottle stoppers are small, we can make them from some of the more exotic and expensive woods available.

Pens and Pencils: Handcrafted wooden pens and pencils always make much appreciated gifts, whether for a friend or family member or for yourself. Our pens are highly polished so they feel smooth in your hand and the combination of the wood and metal fittings gives them a very comfortable weight and balance. These range from fun (the gun cartridge pen) to elegant (the Wall Street pen) with every type you can imagine in between.

Oil Lamps: Our little handmade “confetti” oil lamps are small enough to put all over the house or porch, but give off as much light as their bigger counterparts. A full insert of oil will burn for about 2 hours, giving a warm, soft glow. We have made them in designs ranging from modern to classic and no two are quite alike.

Bowls, Vessels, and Platters: Some of our most beautiful work, bowls, vessels, and platters can be used as lovely decorative pieces around the home or used to hold dried flowers or food. The wood grain and color patterns in most of these are amazing, making each a unique piece. Our elegant segmented bowls make exquisite display pieces or centerpieces.

Boxes: These little boxes, handcrafted from wood on the lathe, have more uses than you can think of. The smaller ones make great trinket boxes to hold your jewelry when you remove it at the end of the day, while the larger ones can hold anything you might want them to! Many of them have decorative texturing to give them an upscale look.
